From a Simple Script to AI Dreams: My Journey to Excelin Web

Back in 2008, I was one of the few students in my school who had a laptop. At that time, not many students had one, so I felt lucky. Even though I was studying nursing, I found myself getting more interested in technology. I started exploring programming, and with just Notepad on my Windows laptop, I began learning how to code.

At first, I didn’t know much, but I kept going. I created a simple program and called it Automed. It wasn’t anything fancy, but to me, it was a big deal. The app would ask the user to type in a number, and based on that number, it would give a response. For example, if the user typed in “38.8,” it would say the person has a fever and suggest they take medicine or see a doctor. It was basic, but I was excited to make something that worked.

I wanted to share it with others, so I made a blog on Blogspot and uploaded the app. I hoped someone would see it and find it useful. A few weeks later, I got an email that really scared me. The European Union sent a message saying that the file I uploaded looked like a virus and asked me to take it down right away.

I didn’t know what to do. I had no idea that something as simple as my app could be seen as dangerous. I also didn’t read the Blogspot rules carefully. I was so excited to share my work that I didn’t think about the risks. I was young and didn’t fully understand how things worked online. I took down the blog, deleted the app, and even wiped everything from my computer. I was afraid of getting into trouble, and it felt like my dream had just fallen apart.

Even though this was a setback, it didn’t stop me. Over the years, I kept learning about programming and technology. I didn’t give up. I started building websites and eventually created Excelin Web, a business where I could help others with web design and development.

Then, in 2023, I discovered ChatGPT, and it felt like everything had come full circle. When I saw how advanced it was, I realized that this was what I had imagined all those years ago. Back in 2008, I dreamed of creating something that could interact and respond like ChatGPT does. It was amazing to see how far technology had come.

Looking back now, I see how much I’ve grown. That first project, Automed, taught me valuable lessons about responsibility, persistence, and how technology can make a difference. Even though I made mistakes, they helped me become better at what I do. Today, Excelin Web is not just a business, but a place where I can share what I’ve learned to help others avoid the same struggles I faced.

My dream from 2008 didn’t die. It’s still alive, and now I get to help others reach their own goals. What started as a small project with just a simple script has turned into something much bigger. And I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
